The former Provincial Grand Master, Colin P. Wright, for many years, since becoming the Provincial Grand Master had wanted to introduce a newsletter. He was pleased in 2002 to be able to announce that "The West Lancashire Freemason" was to be issued to every Freemason within the West Lancashire Province.

The magazine is produced annually in April.
